Happy new year everyone. Lots of new updates to TMM. Even released a new version to download.com. You can download it for yourself and see all the new features.
This news is being posted by my new laptop using the final pages, not the source pages. I have lost the source pages and the ability to make flash movies. But I am intending to remake this site with a whole new, professional looking design, and base it all around Trevor's Archives, rather than trevor's home as it is now. Since the home part is sort of a lie.
*looks at last news update*
almost 6 months ago, thats impressive, and the copyright is 2 years out of date, wow am I lazy *laughs*

Long time folks, OK.  If you haven't been checking, I have been updating programs, just not this site.  Sorry about that, between classes and my job search, there hasn't been much time left over.
So to start, TMM, does have a new version, don't download it, it is riddled with bugs, stick to the older versions that you can get off download.com and other mirrior sites.
Flash Hero, brand new version, 1.2.166.  And its impressive, I finally worked in all the little things I've always wanted for it.  Movie saving abilities, default player abilities.  And its amazing how many bugs I have fixed.  I also added a version checker.  It checks if your version is less than the new one, and it also checks if your version was less than or equal to 1.2.164 which is the last version before the version checker was added.  You might get a fatal error with FH reporting that there was a overflow of data and that the configuration file is totally wrong.  Of course this is normal, just click OK, and reload FH and it will be fine.  I hope everyone is having a good summer.
Oh yes, I am making the replacement site for this one, I'm just really slow and short on time (as most people know).

Finally I have had time to fix up some bugs with some of my programs.  Flash Hero, still bug fixing, but there is/was some good ones, like closing and reoping the control panel made the slider not remember the value of the movie.  For Trevor's Music Mixer, there is actually a new version ready to go, but it is still marginally beta so I won't submit it to download.com and softpedia for a bit yet.  I have completely changed the play list storage system.  It now can hold over a billion songs!  And as long as you have less than the original 32,000 songs limit, TMM will now use less memory and CPU resources when it is sitting idle.  I want to change the play list view next, so that it doesn't have to clear and completely rewrite the list every time the song changes.
So I'm sure you all noticed, but the server this site is on has changed.  It now runs off my Windows 95 computer.  Yeah, the same computer I program on is now a web server.  Please don't hack me!  I am willing to give out webspace if anyone wants any, but I haven't fully thought it through yet.  Right now, on the slate is a new website that will be purely Trevor's Archives.  The site will have a very similar design and navigation structure as the current site does.  Wish me luck!

New update to Trevor's Music Mixer.  Now it's version 1.0.24.  Hopefully this is the final version.  I have fixed every error reported, and a few I found myself.  I have changed what happens when you add more than one song that is already into the playlist.  And there is now a way to filter the list of files to exactly what you want.  Because school starts for me tomorrow, I probably won't do any updates to TMM for a while.  Same goes for Legend's Battle 3.  Hope you all had a great summer.
Trevor, out.

Version 1.0.22 of Trevor's Music Mixer has been released and I'm proud to say its one of the least buggiest versions yet! I only plan one more change.  That will be version 1.0.23 Final.  Betas for LB3TA are of course, on the betas page.  By now you should know where that is, but if not, here is a direct link.
I think I finally got Download.com figured out.  The new description is actually legible heh.
No big story as a news entry today.  Just keep on rocking.

06-29-Thursday
Thanks to a reviewer on Download.com, I have made an update to Trevor's Music mixer.  The full change log is in the installer.
I have restarted working on Legend's Battle 3, and this time I have high hopes for it.  So far all I have done is organized some media, (SFX and music) created some sprites (actually modified the Legend's Soul ones) and created the ATB system.  I have created some ways for it to accept stats from outside sources.  What I am trying to do is create a completely seperate battle system, and level system, that, combined with a level builder.  Can create any story you want (within the confines of the game itself).  I have already laid a platform for movies, everything.  Now whether or not I ever finish it is a good question, or will it turn out how I want.  I may not be able to make the level builder, but I might be able to make it as upgradable as possible and make it easy for me to make new stories and adventures.  And of course I expect, at least the first adventure, to be very basic and mostly battle oriented.  It won't be anything as detailed as Legend's Soul.  But that story was written by a lot of People and over 2 years time.  So you can't expect me to write a captivating story in only a few months time.  Still, I am a horrible animator (Not that I can't do it though).  I'd much prefer if someone else could assist me with this.  The intro video itself is proving to be a challenge.  But I guess if I just try hard I can do anything right?  But if your interested in helping, or even trying to help, just drop me an email.
I got an email today from another Download.com user.  He says "I like the way you design programs.  If you make new softwares, let me know about it !"  I didn't know my design of "Make it look old" was still wanted.  Go figure.
One last thing about Download.com, I think they got monkeys working there.  I mean, I make my fair share of spelling mistakes, but when I go through the trouble of spell checking my descriptions, I don't appreciate them butchering them like they do.  Just take a look

Also new, you can now load more than one playlist at a time allowing you to mix and match your lists. Version 1.0.20 may include Shrinking the playlist view window to just a title bar would cause a fetal error and crash TMM, this has been repaired. Randomize button now has an ALT key assigned to it. Any errors while playing a song would cause the pause button to remain even though the song had stopped. This has been corrected. Closing the choose music window via the close button rather than the Done button would cause strange playlist effects until the choose music window's Done button was clicked. This has been fixed..

Lets take a good look at this. "VERSION 1.0.20 may include Skrinking the playlist view".  Ok, I did not type Version 1.0.20 may include hahah. Actually, the way it works is I type a description in one box, then in another box, I type my changes that only the people at download.com are suposed to read.  But often they tend to attach what I typed to them (which usually doesn't go through a spell checker) onto some obscure opening statement like Version 1.0.20 may include.  You can tell because Shrinking is capitalized (as I typed it originally).  You can also notice that this whole chunk of text was never meant to be seen, because its just a breakdown of the Description above it.  "Also new, you can now load more than one playlist at a time allowing you to mix and match your lists."  This line is actually part of the paragraph above it, but for some reason when they pasted in all that garbage, they forgot to leave an extra line so It just gets smushed into the rest of the text you shouldn't have seen.  And finally, my favorite.
"Requirements Windows 2000/Xp/2003 Server"
I very clearly choose Windows(all) just like I always do, and you'd think that when the staff at download.com read this line "Ever wish you could play a playlist on Windows 95."  Of which I typed in my description.  you'd think they would get the hint that it works on OS's all the way down to at least Windows 95.  Way to check my program over for 15 days before releasing it haha.
Finally, if you haven't already, get over to WGC and make your account and join me and everyone else from MTM2 there.  The lobby may not be the best, but its better than nothing.  I don't think the programmers there are very experienced or at least, do not have the foresight to realize that making every lobby exist in the same EXE program is crazy.  At the moment, the EXE requires 30 megs of ram to run.  That's just to start, then after there is enough chat, you can end off with sometimes over 100 megs of ram, lost.  The only solution to this is either, have the EXE read other files, to gather the needed information about the lobby your trying to enter, and leave the code, graphics, and traffic of other lobbies out of it.  But right now when you join the MTM2 lobby, you in a sense, join every lobby.  Or at least load the code and graphics for every lobby.  This can also cause processor spikes (as some people are already complaining of) but you can minimize the effect of these on your game by setting the client.exe's process to low priority.  To do this in XP, open your task manager, click the processes tab, right click the process and enter the priority sub-menu, then choose low.  To do this in other OS's like Windows 9X, you need another program to do it for you.  I highly suggest Codestuff Starter.  This program follow very similar standards as my programs.  Light, doesn't attach itself to your system, and works on all Windows systems.  It even adapts itself as nessesary.
